Share Price and Market Capitalization at the Close of Trading on Specified Days of the Week:

Friday, September 10th, 2021

This Friday closed with the price of a CBshare 0.14% higher, at KES 2,515.96 (or US$ 22.89, at a 'touch-and-go' forex rate of KES 109.90 per USD). Like CBshare price, four NSE indices which we track also closed on a positive note. They ranked as follows:

1) NSE 25 Index: Up 0.45%
2) FTSE NSE Kenya 25 Index: Up 0.42%
3) CBshare Price: Up 0.14% *
4) NASI (NSE All Share Index): Up 0.09%
5) NSE 20 Index: Up 0.06%.

Comparing performance on a WoW (Week-on-Week) basis -- that is, from the close of trading last Friday to this Friday's close -- gives us the following ranking, which permits a relatively more in-depth and durable perspective:

1) NSE 20 Index: Up 1.88%
2) FTSE NSE Kenya 25 Index: Up 0.62%
3) CBshare Price: Up 0.45% *
4) NSE 25 Index: Up 0.42%
5) NASI (NSE All Share Index): Up 0.37%.

YTD, the price of a CBshare has gone up a hard-to-ignore 23.18%.

Unashig's market capitalization climbed a further 0.14% today to close at KES 8,085,307.80 (or US$ 73,569.68). YTD, it has made a 45.42% gain. Since December 31st, 2019, it has endured a series of ups and downs to close today with a 376.62% gain.

UPDATE (September 12th, 2021):Comparing Unashig's market capitalization growth YTD with the performance of three NSE indices over the same period gives us the following ranking (see Cytonn Weekly Report):

1) Unashig's market capitalization: Up 45.42% *
2) NASI (NSE All Share Index): Up 18.5%
3) NSE 25 Index: Up 15.8%
4) NSE 20 Index: Up 10.2%.

Indeed, even if we replaced Unashig's market capitalization with its CBshare price, it would remain top of the list -- though more narrowly at 23.18%.

IMPORTANT NOTE TO ALL INVESTORS, WHEREVER YOU MAY BE: The price of a CBshare will hold at KES 2,515.96 (US$ 22.89) -- plus statutory and brokerage charges approximating 2.23% over-and-above the direct cost of CBshares bought at a given time -- until 5:00 PM (GMT+3) on Monday, September 13th. A new price will be released, after some 'mining', early or later that night.

Wednesday, September 8th, 2021.

CBshare added 0.18% to its price, closing at KES 2,509.19 (or US$ 22.79, at the back-sliding forex rate of KES 110.09 per USD). Some CB shares were bought late yesterday and most of the proceeds invested early today. This raised the total of shares outstanding to 3,213.61 at today's close, compared to yesterday's 3,194.61. Some quoted shares were bought across several of the 25 companies in which Unashig already has a stake, raising market capitalization by 0.78% to the level reported below.

But, first, here's where CBshare's price placed against the usual NSE indices at today's close:

1) NSE 20 Index: Up 0.66%
2) NASI (NSE All Share Index): Up 0.61%
3) FTSE NSE Kenya 25 Index: Up 0.54%
4) NSE 25 Index: Up 0.42%
5) CBshare Price: Up 0.18%.*

Compared to CBshare's price gain, Unashig's 'overnight' market capitalization gain of 0.78% was, 'discordant' as it may seem, relatively more robust. It closed today at KES 8,063,554.50 (or US$ 73,245.11).

YTD, market capitalization closed with a 45.02% gain. Since December 31st, 2019, the gain has now hit 375.34% -- the highest point since September 1st, 2021.

Tuesday, September 7th, 2021.

The price of a CBshare reversed course, retreating 0.28% to close the day at KES 2,504.62 (or US$ 22.76, at a weak forex rate of KES 110.06 per USD). Only NSE 20 Index maintained its positive outlook, going 0.71% higher than it did on Monday. But CBshare remained competitive. Here's how it placed among the four familiar indices:

1) NSE 20 Index: Up 0.71%
2) CBshare Price: Down 0.28% *
3) NSE 25 Index: Down 0.32%
4) FTSE NSE Kenya 25 Index: Down 0.44%
5) NASI (NSE All Share Index): Down 0.67%.

YTD, the price of a CBshare has remained upbeat, with double-digit growth -- even though it eased today to the 22.63% mark on the growth curve. Momentum shows its face in various ways -- and in that way justifies, calls for, continued nurturing.

Like the CBshare price, Unashig's market capitalization dropped 0.28% this Tuesday. It closed at KES 8,001,276 (or US$ 72,699.22). YTD, however, it stands 43.90% higher on the growth curve. Since December 31st, 2019, it has reached even higher, and stands at the 371.67% point on the curve.

Monday, September 6th, 2021.

Hinged as usual on the aggregate VWAPs of 25 quoted stocks held by Unashig in various quantities at the Nairobi Securities Exchange, CBshare price ticked up 0.27% to close the day at KES 2,511.53 (or US$ 22.82, at the forex rate of KES 110.05 per USD). Only NSE 20 Index and CBshare closed in positive territory, as the ranking below shows:

1) NSE 20 Index: Up 0.65%
2) CBshare Price: Up 0.27%*
3) NASI (NSE All Share Index): Down 0.35%
4) FTSE NSE Kenya 25 Index: Down 0.52%
5) NSE 25 Index: Down 0.67%.

YTD -- that is, since December 31st, 2020 -- the price of a CBshare has recorded a 22.96% gain. This is a higher rate than any bond yield or fixed deposit interest that one can think of -- or get.

Unashig's market capitalization also ended the day 0.27% higher than it did last Friday, at KES 8,022,091.00 (or US$ 72,894.97). YTD, it stands at 44.28% on the growth curve. Since December 31st, 2019, it has recorded a 372.89% gain, and counting. No one knows where it will close tomorrow, but there is still enough momentum in it to push it higher as our thoughts turn more and more toward year-end. It would help if more shareholders picked the habit of frequent investing. Rapid and sustained growth requires frequent, if not constant, investing by a sizeably proportion of shareholders.
