On March 8th, 2021, we formally started using this platform to give a selection of day-to-day and week-by-week changes in the pegged value of Unashig's outstanding (i.e. issued) CBshares, as well as the market capitalization of its portfolio of stocks quoted on the Nairobi Securities Exchamge (NSE). The purpose was to give current and potential investors easy and "always-on" access to the essential updates required to (a) make informed decisions about initial or additional share purchases; and, (b) track on a regular basis the changing (indeed, growing) value of their present or future investments.
We have previously conveyed all this, and certain related observations, almost exclusively on WhatsApp, and shared them sporadically with a relatively small circle of interested investors (mostly Dons at the University of Nairobi). However, it goes without saying that Unashig's presence in a more expansive terrain should sooner rather than later prove more interactive -- and even more beneficial in terms of an expanding shareholder-base, currently standing at 233.
The daily CBshare-price, and the aggregate market capitalization of Unashig's holdings, are calculated and posted at the close of each trading day. These are then clustered on a week-by-week basis, with the most recent week at the top of the series of clusters. In order to deepen perspectives, certain comparisons are periodically made with changes in NSE indices, and with bond yields (both local and foreign).
