Its ranking, compared to key NSE indices, dropped to fifth, mainly due to Safaricom's continued weakening at the bourse, and the absence of noticeable dip-buying by Unashig shareholders (as recently pointed out). Here is how the usual five metrics performed:

1. NSE 20 Index: -0.14%

Monday, May 23rd, 2022.

The Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) continued on a downward slide, which has run roughly since the last week of February this year. This decline is being witnessed around much of the world, including the planet's largest bourses.

At today's close, CBshare price fell another 0.85%, to KES1,931.91 (or US$16.58, at the forex rate of KES116.55 per US$). That notwithstanding, it climbed from fourth last Friday to the second position in today's ranking at the NSE, as shown below:

1. NSE 20 Index: -0.49%
2. CBshare price (25 counters): -0.85%*
3. NSE 25 Index: -2.16%
4. FTSE NSE Kenya 25 Index: -2.31%
5. NASI (NSE All-Share Index): -2.61%

Unashig's market capitalization also declined 0.85%, to close at KES6,483,487.50 (or US$55,652.25).

ALL ARE ADVISED THAT: Share trading is not Unashig's core business, but an important aspect of enterprise. Unashig is a limited liability company registered under Kenya's Companies Act and entirely owned by its registered shareholders.

The average number of CBshares held per shareholder remains very low, however. This is not conducive to rapid capital/asset growth, or the generation of substantial and distributable dividend income from stock holdings. For over 12 months, the value of our CBshare has proven that Unashig's investment decisions continue to be competitive with, and quite frequently superior to, investment decisions pegged on the trajectory of any or often all of the four leading NSE indices.
