Share Price and Market Capitalization at the Close of Specified Days of the Week [Abridged]

Friday, May 6th, 2022.

CBshare closed the day 1.24% lower at KES2,071.77 (or US$17.27, at the forex rate of KES115.95 per US$). Consequently, it dropped to second position as shown in the ranking below:

1. NSE 20 Index: -0.62%
2. CBshare price (25 counters): -1.24%*
3. NSE 25 Index: -1.48%
4. NASI (NSE All-Share Index): -1.93%
5. FTSE NSE Kenya 25: -1.95%.

Unashig's market capitalization also contracted 1.24%, to close lower at KES6,885,761.00 (or US$59,385.61).

On a Week-on-Week (WoW) basis, the declines were generally steeper. However, CBshare's performance placed it second here as well, as we see below:

1. NSE 20 Index: -2.47%
2. CBshare price (25 counters): -2.78%*
3. NSE 25 Index: -3.04%
4. FTSE NSE Kenya 25: -3.53%
5. NASI (NSE All-Share Index): -3.62%.

With share prices continuing to slide even as we watch, including the price of CBshare, it is time for savvy investors to pick the low-hanging fruits we see all around. The more CBshares you buy while the opportunity lasts, the better placed will the value of your own holdings be when NSE indices (and the underlying stock prices) turn upward and upper -- and so will our collective holdings under the Unashig umbrella.

The continuing downward trend at the bourse was mirrored in the price of a CBshare, which closed 0.70% lower at KES2,097.70 (or US$18.09, at the forex rate of KES115.95 per US$). The unrelenting decline in the forex value of KES in recent weeks is only making matters worse for the local stock market. Nevertheless, the ranking given below shows that CBshare climbed back to first place today -- compared to the fourth position it held yesterday:

1. CBshare price (25 counters): -0.70%*
2. NSE 20 Index: -0.85%
3. NSE 25 Index: -0.94%
4. NASI (NSE All-Share Index): -1.15%
5. FTSE NSE Kenya 25 Index: -1.22%.

Unashig's market capitalization also contracted 0.70%, to close lower at KES6,971,949.50 (or US$60,128.93).

Wednesday, May 4th, 2022.

The recent slide in stock prices and indices continued unabated. CBshare price closed another 0.87% down, at KES2,112.50 (or US$18.23, at the forex rate of KES115.85 per US$). However, in the [corrected] list shown below, CBshare rose a notch to fourth place today -- in contrast to the fifth position that it held last Thursday:

1. FTSE NSE Kenya 25 Index: -0.40%
2. NASI (NSE All-Share Index): -0.58%
3. NSE 25 Index: -0.65%
4. CBshare price (25 counters): -0.87%*
5. NSE 20 Index: -1.04%

Unashig's market capitalization also contracted 0.87%, to close lower at KES7,021,136.50 (or US$60,605.41).

NOTE: There was no trading at the bourse on May 2nd and 3rd this week -- both dates being public holidays.

ALL ARE ADVISED THAT: Share trading is not Unashig's core business, but an important aspect of enterprise. Unashig is a limited liability company registered under Kenya's Companies Act and entirely owned by its registered shareholders.

The average number of CBshares held per shareholder remains very low, however. This is not conducive to rapid capital/asset growth, or the generation of substantial and distributable dividend income from stock holdings. For over 12 months, the value of our CBshare has proven that Unashig's investment decisions continue to be competitive with, and quite frequently superior to, investment decisions pegged on the trajectory of any of the four leading NSE indices. Indeed, its aggregate annual yield is, in percentage terms, superior to that of bonds issued in Kenya and, from what we can see, bond yields reported by US and European securities exchanges.
