A nation always has a culture, so none is really lost. The question is: how much of that is purely, authentically, its own; or truly someone else's -- or no one's? Or, to ask a different question: what, really, is a nation, and why isn't it a component, rather than the carrier, of culture?
We'll forever be caught up in a cultural spiral, I think -- in trending states of consciousness worthy of deep thinking: from local to differentiated to hybrid to global to, perhaps, some sort of new local and new now. Once upon a time we humans had only one culture, which was, so to speak, at once local and global and unprecedented. A given. Nay, universal.

Let a Thousand Things
Let a thousand things
Happen, around you.
Let them swirl. Let
Your feelers out.
Be, as much as, one
With the happenings.
Happen, around you.
Let them swirl. Let
Your feelers out.
Be, as much as, one
With the happenings.

O Things
1. Things are not simply moved; they also move -- at different and often imperceptible paces.
2. Things are not so hard, if you just try. But setbacks are part of the terrain you must navigate.
3. Things are not all hard. You just have to find the way -- to their soft side.
4. Time is the reason
We have all the things
We have.
5. Things are the reason
We have the spaces
We have.
6. Time and Space are
The reason for all the paces
Between things.
7. Spaces and paces between
Things are the reason we have
The Internet.
8. The #spaces inside the #Andromeda + the #MilkyWay are the reason there's not a thing there 2 harm the #earth when the 2 #galaxies do collide [A May 24, 2016 tweet]
