From the Cigna Africa quotation for health insurance recently sent to Unasi Insurance Agency, the following facts and figures can be released -- without compromising the identities of the Members concerned. The calculation of a premium payment to be made by a family was based on certain key variables (even though data were sought on other family characteristics such as gender and relation to the family member who was listed as the Unashig Member). The key variables were: Family size (that is, the sum of family members listed for cover), the DOB (later converted to age) of each family member to be covered and Benefit Limit.
A pro-forma range of benefit limits was available in six option-columns, but we preferred to start with the first and lowest (or relatively the most affordable) option -- that is, a benefit limit of US$50,000 (approximately KES 5,000,000/-) per family member covered.
While we cannot publicly share the family details on a social platform such as this, we can, in order to enable Members to see/discern their premium obligations at a glance, give the summaries below. Every Member certainly knows his/her family composition and size, and more importantly the ages of each family member nominated for cover, and should therefore navigate the summary with ease:
Here is the summary (the list will grow longer in the coming days, until we reach the last name at number 113):
