Share Price and Market Capitalization on Specified Days of the Week:
Friday, July 23rd, 2021: Share Price and Market Capitalization at the Close of Trading Day.
CBshare closed the day, and week, at a price per share of KES 2,496.62 (or US$ 23.07, at the forex rate of US$1:KES108.28). This was 0.41% higher than we left it yesterday, but 0.10% lower than it was at last Friday's close. All three Nairobi Securities Exchange indices were therefore outperformed at the close by the gain and momentum that we saw in Unashig's CBshare, as these figures show: NSE 20 (was up 0.15%), NSE 25 (was up 0.04%), and NASI (was down 0.02%). [NB; The performance of NSE 25 index was added to this report on July 24th, 2021 at 03:10 PM (GMT+3)]
On a W-o-W (i.e. Weekly) basis, however, CBshare declined by 0.10%, and thus fell behind all three NSE indices, as follows: NASI (up 2.0%), NSE 20 (up 1.1%) and NSE 25 (up 1.0%) (see Cytonn Weekly Report #28/2021). On a YTD basis, on the other hand, CBshare gained 22.23% in value, and thus stayed noticeably ahead of all the three NSE indices, which (as seen in the same Cytonn Weekly Report) chalked up these respective gains: NASI (17.5%), NSE 25 (14.4%) and NSE 20 (5.3%) [Paragraph updated July 25th, 2021, at 2:05 PM (GMT+3)].
No additional CBshares were sold today, but we exited Home Africa entirely this morning and right away reinvested the proceeds across 5 counters where we already have presence. This temporarily reduced the counters of interest to us to 24. We will soon return to 25.
Unashig's market capitalization also rose 0.41% to close at KES 7,797,230.00 (or US$ 72,009.88). YTD, its growth curve has rebounded to close 40.23% higher/stronger. At this robust pace, there is no likelihood that any Kenyan bond or money-market yield tracked by Cytonn or Dyer & Blair or any other entity will catch it at the end of this year (2021)! Since December 31st, 2019, we may add, the up-and-down trajectory of Unashig's market capitalization has now, regardless of the 'pitfalls', raised it to an overall gain of 359.64%. This is just short of the 360.27% peak recorded earlier this week, on Monday (July 19th, 2021).
IMPORTANT NOTE: The unit price of a CBshare will now hold at KES 2,496.62 (or US$ 23.07) -- plus statutory and brokerage charges representing approximately 2.4% over-and-above the direct cost of CBshares bought by an investor -- until next Monday, July 26th, after, (a) NSE releases its Daily Price List at around 4:00 PM (GMT+3); and, (b) Unashig announces a new CBshare price that evening or night.
Thursday, July 22nd, 2021: Share Price and Market Capitalization at the Close of Trading Day.
Today's CBshare price closed 0.32% lower than yesterday's, settling at KES 2,486.40 (or US$ 22.98, at the forex rate of US$1:KES108.20). It turns out that its performance was at the same level as the NSE 20 index, which closed this day 0.32% lower as well. But NASI marginally outpaced both, with a 0.07% gain.
The CBshare price thus continues to demonstrate strength, what with its accumulated gain, YTD, now persisting above 20% -- and more specifically closing the day at the 21.73% mark.
Unashig's market capitalization also declined 0.32% to close at KES 7,765,299.00 (or US$ 71,768.01). On a YTD basis, the momentum of this capitalization has indeed dipped below the 40% mark -- momentarily, we think -- to close at 39.66%. In contrast, however, Kenya's fixed deposit accounts have most recently yielded an average annual return of 6.3% (read the narrative at the link below).Tracking Unashig's growth path since December 31st, 2019, moreover, we see that -- despite some turbulence (foreseeable or not) along the way -- its valuation powers on, and has today hit the 357.75% point-of-gain.

Wednesday, July 21st, 2021: Share Price and Market Capitalization at the Close of Trading Day.
The CBshare dipped 0.23% today, compared to Monday's level. It closed at KES 2,494.29 (or US$23.07, at the forex rate of US$1:KES108.14). It also fell behind two key indices: NASI (which rose 0.16%) and NSE 20 (which had a marginal gain of 0.02%). There are no trading stats for Tuesday, which was a public holiday.
While its outstanding shares stayed put at 3,123.11 today, Unashig added some quoted shares, and some momentum, to its portfolio. But this did not prevent the 0.23% slide already noted. On a YTD basis, the CBshare's gain remains robust and forward leaning -- at 22.12%.
Unashig's market capitalization also retreated 0.23% at the close, settling at KES 7.789,938.00 (or US$ 72,035.68). This valuation has now grown 40.10%, YTD -- that is, during the roughly seven months since December 31st, 2020. And since December 31st, 2019, it has recorded a cumulative gain of 359.21%.
Monday, July 19th, 2021: Share Price and Market Capitalization at the Close of Trading Day.
The price of a CBshare rose marginally today, closing 0.04% higher than last Friday at KES 2,500.04 (or US$ 23.11, at today's forex rate of US$1:KES108.20). This new price takes us to a level never before seen, even though its underlying growth momentum was outpaced today by the NSE 20 index -- which recorded a 0.64% gain during the same period. But the CBshare closed on a positive note compared to NASI, which declined by 0.02%.
Additional CBshares were bought today, raising the total outstanding to 3,123.11. Unashig also added some quoted shares to its growing portfolio, and will acquire some more on Wednesday. Tuesday is a public holiday.
YTD, CBshare's growth curve has hit a new high of 22.40%. Can't wait for end-of-year numbers.
Market capitalization made a 0.04% gain from last Friday, closing at a new level of KES 7,807,902.50 (or US$72,161.760). On a YTD basis, today's closing number represents a robust 40.43% growth. Since December 31st, 2019, moreover, Unashig's incremental value has grown by 360.27%.
