Those who search online for health facilities and medical specialists often encounter some confusion in classifying them. There is a tendency to describe both categories as providers. A search using the key word 'provider' often doesn't deliver the desired results. Two lists under different labels are used below to clear some of this confusion with particular reference to UAP/OldMutual's operations in Kenya, and the impending health insurance deal between UAP/OldMutual and Unashig members/shareholders:
1. UAP/OldMutual's List of Preferred Hospitals
2. UAP/OldMutual's Provider Panel List w.e.f October 2019
The term Provider Panel List is used in a broad sense to include:
1. Specialists/Consultants/Doctors and the premises, hospitals or 'facilities' from which they operate.
2. Approved hospitals, clinics and related health facilities
3. Pharmacies.
