Unashig has 242 shareholders at present. Out of 7,000 authorized shares, they currently own a combined total of 3,307.61 CA and CBshares. Out of the shares already issued, 202 are CA or voting shares (with each qualifying holder restricted to only one share and one vote), while 3,105.61 are CB or wealth-creation shares. Only present and past academic staff of the University of Nairobi, and those who legally inherit their shares, qualify to own CA shares. There is no restriction as to the number of CBshares any person may pay for and hold.
Owners of both categories of shares are entitled to the same rate of distribution per share in terms of dividends, bonus issues, or share splits.
