"No Do", Kiss Daniel Counsels Everyone on this Sunny and Festive Day

No Do is further proof that whatever theme Kiss Daniel chooses for a song, you can depend on him to choose the finest musical rendition and video mix for it. No Do is proper advice to everyone to always do the right thing, and not be too uptight about money. But he sugarcoats the words with an inspired vocal treat.

And the band's truly uplifting play, symphony even, of the repertoire of instruments that it has lifts all our spirits with its charm and an obviously very creatively written score. It's a work of passion.

We even see the band integrated into the festive crowd -- a rare thing. Yes, the video camera gives us only a teasing, tantalizing glimpse of it, but that's enough.  It's a happy day, Kiss Daniel sings. But, as the camera subtly suggests, having a festive occasion doesn't stop a spat or two from happening. Doesn't stop life from being life, if you're not too uptight about things getting out of hand.

And so it, the camera's eye, mixes all  the bustle of the sunny day without a fuss into one seamless and fascinating fare/fair/affair: Kiss Daniel's masterful and unobtrusive presence, the deprivation and the generosity that we see, the tender touching and the occasional shoving in the crowd, all the to-and-fro of those minding the feasting crowd, the determined eating, and, mm, the ample servings.

A feel good day, then. Tomorrow will come with all its troubles, for sure. It's a happy day -- is what the singer is singing.

MUSIC: Counting Blessings with Mixzy

With the sun fixing to set in the West as it does, as if rendered thus just for now by the knowing hand of a master artist, this whole music video, directed by C.A.R.D.O.S.O, presents as a super-inspired jollity. As vignettes, hints only perhaps, of the good life in a hidden ecosystem.

The song's all-enveloping tone, vocal and instrumental, lifts and uplifts, rendering the brief moment in life it fills with itself a monumental experience; a festivity that'll linger and linger in the hearts of all who are blessed to hear it.

It's a ritual of happiness. Of joy. Happiness and Champagne. Naughty dare-devilry. Some sort of cool fertility dance, too -- in the light of whatever it is that's celebrated, and in anticipation of its own aftermath.

Listen to the guitar's perfectly timed punctuating! "Sikia namuna gitaa iko naliya," as a famous Congolese once upon a time sang, caught up in a sort of aural selfie.

No one can take your blessings away in this charmed set-up, this microcosm of engagement and mirth, this subtle detour; this enchanting tribute to life as it ought to be spiced, now and then, when all is done for the moment and all is well. Down with all those who try!

It's a wonderful song. Look how happiness spreads across them faces, one by one! And, yes, no one can stop it.
